Job summary

Martin Brower Karawatha invites an enthusiastic Inventory Officer to join our DC operations. You will ensure stock accuracy, process stock movements, support the dispatch schedule, and maintain locations and shelf life checks in a safety- and cost-conscious manner.

This full-time, Monday–Friday role offers training and development, EAP, free onsite parking, volunteer leave, and recognition awards within a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • Experience in inventory in supply chain, logistics, or warehousing.
  • Keen eye for detail when reading inventory reports.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Intermediate IT skills; proficient in Excel.
  • Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure physical stock accuracy in the distribution centre aligns with system records.
  • Assist with stock takes and management of consignment stock processes.
  • Reconcile cycle counts and computer results weekly and as required.
  • Escalate major stock variances to Inventory Controller and Central Supply team.
  • Maintain DC product locations and pick paths.
  • Perform daily product rotation and shelf life checks.
  • Ensure compliance with QA, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Drive engagement and continuous improvement within the workplace.

Job description

Monday to Friday roster - Day shift (10:00 - 18:00)

The Opportunity:

We are seeking for an enthusiastic and motivated Inventory Officer to join our dynamic and collaborative operations team at Karawatha. In this role you will be responsible for the accuracy of inventory and ensuring timely processing in the system of all information relating to Distribution Centre (DC) stock, including stock movements and deliveries. You will ensure inventory levels are appropriate to support the dispatch schedule and that the distribution requirements of the DC are carried out safely, in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Day to Day you will:
  • Be responsible for ensuring the physical stock on hand in the DC is accurate and reflects the inventory levels in the inventory system
  • Assist with the DC component of all stock takes and the management of the process for consignment products
  • Reconcile cycle counting and computer results on a weekly basis, and as required
  • Escalate immediately any major stock variances to the Inventory Controller and Central Supply team in Head Office.
  • Maintain the DC product locations and pick path.
  • Ensure product rotation and shelf life checks are completed daily
  • Maintain operations compliance within legislative and customer driven requirements and adhere to Quality Assurance and Environmental policy i.e. out of rotation, out of temperature and other non-conformances
  • Encourage and drive a culture of engagement and continuous improvement within the workplace
About You:
  • Demonstrated inventory experience, ideally within a similar role in eitheraSupply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse and/or Transport industry
  • Experienced in comprehending inventory reports with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to build and foster long term relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Intermediate IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Prior experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
