Job summary

Hardware & General in Brookvale is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to lead stock control across all H&G sites, ensuring accuracy and efficient distribution.

You will work with Purchasing, Sales and Finance to optimise replenishment, plan orders and improve processes, while maintaining safety standards and compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in inventory, stock control or warehouse operations.
• Experience with ERP/inventory management systems.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to prepare inventory reports.
• Experience identifying discrepancies and implementing improvements.
• Current NSW driver's licence and Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Oversee stock control and inventory accuracy across all H&G sites.
• Coordinate cycle counts, annual stocktakes and end-of-financial-year stocktakes.
• Investigate stock discrepancies, damaged goods, shrinkage and inventory write-offs.
• Monitor stock levels and manage replenishment, minimum and maximum stock levels and reorder requirements.
• Working with Purchasing to plan orders and maintain stock availability.
• Identifying slow-moving, excess and obsolete stock and improving stock turnover.
• Overseeing goods receipting and ensuring deliveries are checked accurately.
• Coordinating inter-branch stock transfers to minimise unnecessary purchasing.
• Supporting efficient picking, packing, storage and dispatch processes.
• Ensuring yard and warehouse layouts support safe and efficient storage of building materials.
• Collaborating with Sales, Purchasing, Distribution and Finance to resolve stock issues and improve processes.
• Preparing regular inventory reports covering stock value, accuracy, availability and aged stock.
• Identifying opportunities to improve inventory systems, processes and reporting.
• Maintaining high workplace health and safety standards, including forklift operations.

About the Opportunity

We have an opportunity for an experienced and motivated Inventory Manager to join our Operations & Sales team, based in Brookvale and supporting inventory operations across all Hardware & General locations.

Reporting to the Head of Distribution, Logistics & Inventory, you'll play an important role in ensuring stock is accurately managed, available when needed and efficiently distributed across our sites.

This is a hands-on role combining stock control, inventory planning, replenishment, warehouse and yard operations, and process improvement. You'll work closely with Purchasing, Sales, Distribution and Finance to ensure our inventory processes run smoothly and efficiently.

We're looking for someone who understands the importance of stock accuracy, takes pride in organisation and enjoys working with people to improve operational performance.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• Minimum three years' experience in inventory, stock control or warehouse operations.
• Experience in building supplies, hardware, timber, steel or a similar distribution environment will be highly regarded however not essential.
• Strong understanding of stock management, inventory accuracy and replenishment processes.
• Experience using ERP or inventory management systems. Frameworks experience will be highly regarded.
• Good Excel skills and confidence preparing inventory reports.
• Proven ability to identify stock discrepancies and improve inventory processes.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements in a yard or warehouse environment.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with different departments and manage competing priorities.
• Current NSW driver's licence.
• Full Australian working rights without restrictions.
