Job summary

Optus, based in Macquarie Park, Sydney, is seeking an Inventory Control Manager to lead governance, control and continuous improvement of inventory management across the enterprise. You’ll supervise stock across facilities, the national distribution centre and partner sites, ensuring accurate recording and availability for network operations and business continuity.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, spares management, or related discipline across multiple locations.
• Experience managing inventory held by 3PLs, distribution centres, contractors or field-support partners.
• Strong fundamentals: stock movements, reconciliation, cycle counting, stocktakes, variance management.
• Experience implementing or improving ERP, WMS, inventory systems, workflows, controls and reporting.
• Proven ability to improve inventory accuracy, compliance, data quality and visibility via root‑cause analysis and corrective action.
• Demonstrated people-leadership experience with blended teams of permanent and contract staff.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end inventory management across Optus-controlled and partner locations.
• Establish and maintain inventory control standards and operating disciplines.
• Govern receipts, issues, transfers, returns, repairs, disposals and adjustments with proper authorization.
• Drive improvements in accuracy, stock visibility and data quality across locations.
• Plan and coordinate annual stocktake program and variance actions.
• Lead adoption and continuous improvement of inventory processes with Technology and process owners.
• Lead, coach and develop a blended team of staff and contractors; build stakeholder relationships.
