Job summary

Sharp and Carter is seeking an Inventory Controller in Brisbane to own stock accuracy, replenishment and reporting. This desk-based role focuses on numbers and what they mean for production and the bottom line, with storemen handling picking, forklift work, dispatch and receipting.

You will report to the Operations Manager and collaborate with Production, Purchasing and Finance to monitor stock levels, run cycle counts and support production schedules.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on ERP/MRP experience (Pronto is a bonus, but similar systems are transferable).
• Comfortable turning data into decisions with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Analysing stock levels against demand and output, and setting and managing min/max levels
• Spotting excess, slow-moving and obsolete stock early, and acting before it becomes a write-off
• Planning and managing the flow of inbound imported stock
• Keeping inventory records accurate in the ERP and investigating stock discrepancies
• Reviewing BOM requirements against availability to support production schedules
• Running cycle counts and coordinating the annual stocktake
• Reporting on inventory accuracy, stock valuation, turns and variances
