Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst to join the Infrastructure Supply Chain team in Sydney. You will reconcile stock positions, analyze data, and drive improvements in material management.

You will develop dashboards and reports in Excel/Power BI, collaborate with suppliers, warehouse teams, and internal stakeholders, and manage slow-moving/obsolete material reporting while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in inventory, supply chain, or reporting roles.
  • Strong inventory control and stock reconciliation knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI or similar tools.

Overview

The Opportunity: We're looking for an experienced Inventory Analyst to join Downer's Infrastructure Supply Chain team. You'll play a key role in reconciling, analysing, and transacting inventory positions, managing slow-moving and obsolete materials, and providing data-driven insights to support optimal material management outcomes. This role involves independent engagement with external partners to optimise inventory, maintain accurate stock-on-hand reporting, and ensure compliance with organisational standards.

What You'll Do
  • Maintain accurate inventory data and reconcile stock positions.
  • Conduct audits and validations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and datasets to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, clients, warehouse teams, T&I staff, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Manage slow-moving and obsolete material reporting, providing timely analysis and recommendations.
  • Support compliance with Zero Harm, safety, and quality processes.
  • Analyse material performance and provide actionable insights to management.

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in inventory, supply chain, or reporting roles.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, stock reconciliation, and supply chain principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
