If you love complex cases, enjoy learning, and want a nursing role where you can genuinely develop your clinical skills, Internal Medicine might be exactly what you're looking for.
This is not your average veterinary nursing position. You'll work alongside specialists, residents and an experienced nursing team, caring for patients with complex and often fascinating medical conditions.
The better question might be — what don't we do?
Our Internal Medicine nurses are involved in everything from managing complex hospital patients and assisting with advanced diagnostic workups to anaesthesia and specialised procedures.
Depending on the day, you could be:
You’ll see everything from gastrointestinal and respiratory disease to endocrinology, haematology, oncology, immune-mediated disease and some wonderfully complicated diagnostic mysteries.
We’re looking for someone who is curious, motivated and genuinely loves nursing.
Ideally, you’ll have:
Previous referral or specialist experience is highly regarded, but not essential.
This is a role where you can really use your nursing skills — and build new ones.
You’ll work alongside experienced Internal Medicine Specialists, residents and a supportive nursing team, with exposure to advanced diagnostics, procedures and some incredibly interesting cases.
VSOS is a large multidisciplinary specialist and emergency hospital, which means our Internal Medicine team also works closely with Diagnostic Imaging, Cardiology, Surgery, Neurology and Emergency & Critical Care.
There are opportunities to learn every day, whether that’s developing your anaesthesia skills, becoming confident with endoscopy, learning more about CT and MRI, managing complex medical patients or simply understanding the medicine behind what we’re doing.
We want nurses who are interested in why, not just what.
This is a full-time position within our Internal Medicine department.
You’ll be joining a team that values collaboration, communication, high standards of patient care and — importantly — supporting each other when the day gets busy.
If you’re looking for a role where you can challenge yourself, learn from specialists, develop advanced nursing skills and care for some truly fascinating patients, we’d love to hear from you.
Come and see where Internal Medicine nursing can take you.
