Job summary

Cardinia Shire Council is seeking an Internal Communications Officer to connect employees with our values, purpose and community outcomes. You will craft engaging content and campaigns spanning writing, video, photography and digital channels, and work with teams across the organisation to tell compelling stories.

You will bring exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a flair for storytelling, and experience delivering internal and external communications.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, media, public relations or related field.
• Experience producing materials across writing, video, photography and digital platforms.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels.
• Experience delivering internal and external communications campaigns.
• Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal communication plans and campaigns that inform, engage and inspire employees.
• Produce engaging monthly newsletters, videos and digital content.
• Partner across the organisation to uncover meaningful stories that support culture and change.
• Provide advice on communication tools, channels and best-practice approaches.
• Capture and create compelling written, photographic and video content at events.

You will make an impact by

• Developing creative internal communication plans and campaigns that inform, engage and inspire employees.
• Producing engaging monthly newsletters, videos and digital content that celebrate our people and initiatives.
• Partnering across the organisation to uncover meaningful stories that support culture,connection and change.
• Providing advice on communication tools,channels and best‑practice approaches.
• Capturing and creating compelling written,photographic and video content at internal and external events.

What you will bring

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a creative flair and a natural storytelling ability.
• Experience producing communication materials across multiple mediums (writing, video, photography, digital platforms).
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work confidently with people at all levels.
• Proven capability in planning,delivering and evaluating internal and external communication campaigns.
• Sound judgement,decision‑making skills and the ability to handle enquiries diplomatically and confidentially.
• Proficiency with communication tools such as intranet systems, email marketing platforms and digital content systems.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in communications, media, publicrelations or a related field.
• A current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
