Job summary

Cardinia Shire Council is seeking an Internal Communications Officer to drive storytelling that connects employees to our values, purpose and community outcomes. You’ll join a collaborative Communications and Engagement team in a values‑driven organisation, where creativity and continuous improvement are encouraged in a hybrid work model.

You will develop creative internal communications plans, produce monthly newsletters, videos and digital content, and partner across the organisation to

Qualifications

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Experience producing materials across multiple mediums (writing, video, photography, digital).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver and evaluate internal and external campaigns.
• Ability to handle enquiries diplomatically and confidentially.

You will make an impact by

• Providing advice on communication tools,channels and best‑practice approaches.
• Capturing and creating compelling written,photographic and video content at internal and external events.

What you will bring

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a creative flair and a natural storytelling ability.
• Experience producing communication materials across multiple mediums (writing, video, photography, digital platforms).
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work confidently with people at all levels.
• Proven capability in planning,delivering and evaluating internal and external communication campaigns.
• Sound judgement,decision‑making skills and the ability to handle enquiries diplomatically and confidentially.
• Proficiency with communication tools such as intranet systems, email marketing platforms and digital content systems.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in communications, media, publicrelations or a related field.
• A current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
