Job description

The PharmaCrop Story

Based in Queensland, Australia, PharmaCrop operates under strict Australian legal frameworks and licenses to grow and produce premium plant-based medicines. Our team of healthcare leaders shares a deep passion for the healing potential of plant-based medicine. Since its Australian legalisation in 2016, we observed a notable disparity in the local market's quality and variety compared to global standards. Determined to bridge this gap, we combined our skills and expertise to ensure the Australian Healthcare ecosystem receives the highest standard of care.

Your Responsibilities
  • Arranging, coordinating, and conducting investigations and audits to ensure the correct handling of pharmaceutical funds and the net yield of medicinal production.
  • Examining the effectiveness of internal operating controls throughout the cultivation and extraction facility.
  • Inspecting accounting systems and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness in a high-compliance environment.
  • Reviewing the accuracy and reliability of financial reports and records across all departments.
  • Reporting to management on the findings of investigations and audits and advising on operational deficiencies.
  • Conducting audits of pharmaceutical-grade records and specialized accounting systems.
  • Preparing financial statements and reports for management and regulatory review.
  • Recommending improvements to business and financial procedures to ensure robust internal governance.
  • Advising on the financial aspects of inventory management, supply chain logistics, and capital investment.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related Business field. Membership with a professional body such as the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), CPA Australia, or CA ANZ is highly regarded.
  • Experience: At least five years of relevant internal auditing experience may substitute for formal qualifications. Previous experience in pharmaceutical, agricultural, or high-security manufacturing sectors is an advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced knowledge of Australian Auditing Standards and financial legislation.
    • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to detect operational and financial discrepancies.
    • Proficiency in utilizing advanced audit software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
    • Strong communication skills for presenting complex findings to executive leadership.
  • Licensing & Background Checks: Due to the strict legal framework surrounding plant-based medicines in Australia, the successful candidate must pass a comprehensive National Police Check. You must also meet the "Fit and Proper Person" criteria required for employees working within licensed medicinal facilities.
