Job summary

Colonial First State (CFS) is seeking a Manager, Technology & Data Audit within its Internal Audit function. This role focuses on technology-focused internal audits and collaboration with co-sourced providers to strengthen the control environment.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in risk management and internal audits, particularly around IT controls, data governance, and regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes stakeholder engagement and governance excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in risk management and/or internal audit.
• Experience auditing IT general controls, application controls, technology operations, and third-party services.
• Ability to assess data governance, data management, and data risk frameworks.
• Experience evaluating technology risk management frameworks and control environments.
• Experience assessing compliance with APRA prudential standards, privacy, and information security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits to support timely delivery of the IA Plan in line with IIA standards.
• Deliver concise internal audit reports with findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Foster relationships with First- and Second-Line teams to enable assurance.
• Contribute to development of a risk-based annual audit plan tailored to CFS.
• Provide input on IA methodology development and integration with leading IA practice.
• Assist with special projects such as evaluating IT system design for security and policy changes.
• Advocate a culture of good governance, risk management, efficiency and transparency.

Your Team

The Manager, Technology & Data Audit is part of CFS's Internal Audit (IA) function led by the Executive Director, Internal Audit. CFS Internal Audit provides independent, objective and commercial risk focused assurance that improves the effectiveness and efficiency of the control environment to ensure the organisation delivers on it's purpose and strategy. This position performs primarily technology focussed internal audits, alongside other team members and in some external co-source service providers.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits to support the timely delivery of the IA Plan, ensuring all work complies with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Professional Standards.
• Deliver concise and insightful internal audit reports, including findings and recommendations to key stakeholders across all management levels.
• Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders including First- and Second-Line teams to enable efficient and effective assurance.
• Provide input to the development of a risk based annual audit plan that is tailored to CFS.
• Contribute thought leadership to enable IA methodology development and integration with leading IA practice.
• As required, assist with special projects e.g. evaluate information technology system design for security, completeness and accuracy, provide advice on policy and process changes etc.
• Advocate and foster a culture of good corporate governance, risk management, efficiency and business transparency.

Your Capability and Experience

• Proven experience in Risk Management and/or Internal Audit roles.
• Risk Mindset - All employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
• Experience auditing of IT general controls, application controls, technology operations, and third-party services.
• Ability to assess data governance, data management, and data risk frameworks.
• Experience evaluating technology risk management frameworks and control environments.
• Experience assessing compliance with APRA prudential standards, privacy, and information security requirements.
• Proven ability to deliver timely and effective execution of internal audits.
• Advanced communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to engage and build relationships with executives and internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in wealth management and/or investments industries is preferable.
• Degree qualification in finance, accounting, business, economics, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or related subjects.
• Post graduate qualification (CA, CPA, CIA, CISA or equivalent) is desirable
