Job summary

Mildura Base Public Hospital (MBPH) offers a hospital-funded Pharmacy Intern program for 2026 placements in 2027. Interns rotate through all hospital areas under the guidance of clinical pharmacists and the Allied Health Education team.

You will be supported to complete Monash University ITP/IFP programs, with opportunities to influence projects and learn across General Medicine, Surgery, Rehabilitation, and more within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in or have completed a registrable pharmacy degree in Australia.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and participate in a weekend roster.
• Experience or interest in hospital pharmacy practice is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through hospital pharmacy areas to gain broad experience.
• Participate in internship training with the Pharmacy Department and Allied Health Education team.
• Support interns in training programs and registration requirements.

Intern program information

Our flexible intern program sees our interns rotate through all areas of the hospital with our team of clinical pharmacists. This also allows for interns to spend more time in areas of greater interest to them, while preparing them to work as pharmacists once they’re fully registered. Our interns also participate in our rotating weekend roster, working approximately every fourth weekend. You will be supported through your chosen training program and registration by our whole Pharmacy Department and our Allied Health Education team.

We encourage our interns to complete the Monash University ITP and IFP, we are an accredited site for interns looking at completing these programs. If you choose to complete the Monash University IFP, you will be able to choose your project as a topic of interest to you. Our previous intern projects have directly influenced changes within our workplace, and we encourage all our interns to consider this when picking their topic.

Positions available

1 Hospital funded position is available in Round 2 of the Victorian Hospital Pharmacy Intern Program 2026 (placements in 2027).

Group 1, group 2 and group 3 applicants are eligible for hospital funded positions in Round 2.

• Group 1: Australian and New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents who have completed, or will complete in 2026 a registrable pharmacy degree at a Victorian university
• Group 2: Australian and New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents who have completed or will complete in 2026 a registrable pharmacy degree outside Victoria.
• Group 3: Applicants who are NOT an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident. Note: We please request that only applicants who are currently residing in Australia apply as we are unable to provide visa sponsorship arrangements or other relocation allowances for this position.
