Job summary

Menard Oceania is seeking an Intern Drafting Assistant to support senior drafting and design engineers in preparing, modifying, and coordinating civil, structural and geotechnical drawings. The role offers hands-on mentoring in engineering drafting practices and project delivery.

The successful candidate will gain experience across civil, structural, and geotechnical disciplines while working within a collaborative project team.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of engineering drawing standards and principles.
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior drafting & design engineers in preparing, modifying, and coordinating civil, structural and geotechnical drawings and documentation.
• Contribute to on-the-job training and mentoring to develop drafting and engineering knowledge.

Your Role

The Intern drafting Assistant will support the senior drafting & design engineers in the preparation, modification, and coordination of civil, structural and geotechnical engineering drawings and documentation. This position provides an opportunity to develop technical drafting expertise and engineering knowledge while working within a collaborative project team.

Skills and Qualifications

On-the-Job Training and Development

The role provides structured on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced Senior Draft’s person and the Design Manager. The successful candidate will receive hands-on guidance in engineering drafting practices, project delivery processes, and the application of industry standards across civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering disciplines.

Salary & Benefits

Remuneration will be competitive with current market rates, depending on qualifications and experience.
