Job summary

Charterhouse is partnering with a well-established accounting firm in Shepparton seeking an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join its growing team. You will prepare financial accounts and tax returns for a diverse range of entities while building strong client relationships.

This role offers flexible working arrangements, ongoing training and clear opportunities for career progression within public practice.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in Australian public practice.
• CA/CPA studies highly regarded.
• Experience preparing accounts and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax and compliance requirements.
• Experience with Xero and/or other accounting software.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Genuine interest in developing your career within public practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial accounts and tax returns for a range of entities.
• Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries.
• Assist with tax planning and advisory work.
• Prepare BAS and other compliance requirements.
• Communicate directly with clients and build strong relationships.
• Assist senior accountants and partners with more complex work.
• Support and mentor junior team members where required.
