Job summary

Bentleys Queensland, a leading accounting and advisory firm in Brisbane, is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our public practice team. You will gain hands-on experience across individuals, companies and trusts, while collaborating with managers and partners committed to your development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• Experience in Australian public practice (2+ years).
• Strong understanding of Australian taxation principles.

Responsibilities

• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts.
• Completing BAS, IAS and other compliance requirements.
• Assisting with tax planning and advisory projects.
• Preparing supporting workpapers and liaising with the ATO on client matters.
• Managing your workflow and meeting client deadlines with support from senior team members.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts
• Completing BAS, IAS and other compliance requirements

• Managing your workflow and meeting client deadlines with support from senior team members

About You

You're someone who has built a solid foundation in public practice and is ready to continue growing your career in a supportive and collaborative environment. You enjoy working closely with clients, take pride in delivering high-quality work and are eager to expand your technical skills and experience.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Approximately two or more years' experience in Australian public practice
• A sound understanding of Australian taxation principles
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB and/or QuickBooks
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
