Job summary

The Museum of Fire in Penrith, NSW seeks an experienced leader to step into the Acting CEO role for a fixed-term of approximately 14 months (parental leave cover). You will steer day-to-day operations, lead staff and volunteers, and work with the Board to ensure financial sustainability and strategic progress.

• Proven leadership and management skills to guide staff and volunteers.
• Strong strategic planning and budgeting capabilities with ability to deliver practical outcomes.
• Experience in fundraising, grants, sponsorships and partnerships for sustainability.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management with a Board and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the Museum of Fire.
• Oversee governance, financial management, exhibitions and visitor services.
• Drive fundraising, sponsorships and grants to support sustainability.
• Manage a diverse team of employees and volunteers and provide effective people leadership.
• Foster community engagement and strong relationships with the Board, supporters and community partners.
• Represent the organisation in public and professional settings and ensure high-quality visitor experiences.
