Job summary

Life Without Barriers is hiring an Intensive Therapeutic Care Worker in Grafton for permanent part-time and casual roles. Join a supportive team that helps children and young people thrive, including those with disability or complex needs.

You will work in residential homes, supporting trauma-affected youths aged 12–17, with shifts across afternoons, sleepovers and weekends. Competitive hourly rate with super.

Qualifications

• Hold or be actively completing a Diploma in Community Services or related field (or higher).
• Experience supporting Children, Young People and/or People with disability.
• Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate.
• Willingness to assist with activities of daily living, including personal care if required.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people aged 12–17 who’ve experienced trauma or neglect.
• Assist with daily living activities and personal care when needed.
• Work in 24/7 residential homes with rostered afternoon, sleepover and weekend shifts.

Education

Diploma in Community Services or related field

Role: Residential Youth Worker (Intensive Therapeutic Care & Significant Disabilities)

Employment Type: Permanent Part Time & Casual

Location: Grafton

As a Therapeutic Youth Worker you’ll be a key support for children & young people aged 12 to 17 years who’ve experienced childhood trauma, abuse, or neglect. Some of the children and young people we care for may also have a disability or complex medical needs requiring specialised support, including personal care.

Our residential homes operate 24/7, therefore it is essential that successful applicants are able and willing to work a roster which regularly includes afternoon, sleepover and weekend shifts.

• Hold or be actively completing a Diploma in Community Services or related field (or higher) OR hold relevant experience and complete Diploma qualification offered by LWB. (Please note: a qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)
• Experience supporting Children, Young People and/or People with disability
• A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate
• Willingness to assist with activities of daily living, including personal care (if required).

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register check.
