Job summary

COSOL is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to lead architecture strategy and design for a complex, multi-vendor program in Australia. The role involves guiding solution, integration, data and cloud architecture, with a focus on secure and scalable AWS-based solutions.

You will engage with client stakeholders, delivery teams and technology partners to influence architectural decisions and drive long-term outcomes across OT data and real-time workloads.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership across a major enterprise transformation program, ensuring solutions align with business objectives and long-term strategy.
• Define and maintain target-state architecture, standards, governance frameworks and reusable patterns.
• Lead solution, integration, data and cloud architecture activities in a complex, multi-vendor environment.
• Design secure, scalable and resilient AWS-based solutions for real-time operational and business needs.
• Establish integration strategies covering APIs, event-driven architectures, messaging and real-time data streaming.
• Guide ingestion, governance of OT data including PLC and SCADA systems.
• Provide architectural oversight during delivery and ensure compliance with designs.
• Facilitate architecture workshops and governance forums across stakeholders.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors and delivery teams to resolve complex technical challenges.

Other Locations: Australia Wide (Remote, with travel to Sydney every 2 months)

The Opportunity

As the senior technical authority for the program, you will lead the architecture strategy and design for a complex, multi-vendor environment, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient and aligned to business objectives.

Working closely with client stakeholders, delivery teams and technology partners, you'll provide leadership across solution, integration, data and cloud architecture while helping shape critical technology decisions and long-term outcomes.

This is a highly influential role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex integration challenges and influencing architecture across large-scale transformation programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership across a major enterprise transformation program, ensuring solutions align with business objectives, operational requirements and long-term strategy.
• Define and maintain target-state architecture, architecture standards, governance frameworks and reusable design patterns.
• Lead solution, integration, data and cloud architecture activities across a complex, multi-vendor environment.
• Design secure, scalable and resilient AWS-based solutions that support real-time operational and business requirements.
• Establish integration strategies covering APIs, event-driven architectures, messaging frameworks and real-time data streaming platforms.
• Guide the ingestion, management and governance of operational technology (OT) data, including PLC, SCADA and other critical operational systems.
• Provide architectural oversight throughout delivery, ensuring solutions are implemented in line with approved designs and best practices.
• Facilitate architecture workshops, design reviews and technical governance forums, driving alignment across business and technology stakeholders.
• Work closely with clients, vendors and delivery teams to resolve complex technical challenges and support key architectural decisions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, providing clear recommendations on technology direction, risks, constraints and opportunities.
• Mentor technical teams and contribute to the ongoing evolution of architecture capability, standards and practices across the program.

About You

You'll be an experienced architect with a strong track record delivering complex enterprise technologies and transformation programs.

• Extensive experience in senior Solution, Integration or Enterprise Architecture roles.
• Demonstrated success leading architecture outcomes across large-scale transformation programs.
• Strong experience across Integration Architecture, Data Architecture and Solution Architecture.
• Deep AWS architecture expertise, including cloud-native, event-driven and real-time data solutions.
• Experience establishing architecture standards, governance frameworks and reusable design patterns.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical, business and executive audiences.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing capabilities.

Highly Regarded

• AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification (or similar).
• Experience with AWS streaming technologies including Kinesis, MSK or IoT Core.
• Exposure to transport, rail, mining, utilities or other asset-intensive industries.
• Experience integrating PLC, SCADA, Modbus or other operational technology systems.
