Job summary

Birdon is seeking an experienced ILS Lead to oversee all Integrated Logistics Support activities across Defence contracts, helping to establish the ILS function within the Australian business. The role guides subcontractors, interfaces with engineering, and drives data-product integration from design through to service.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years delivering ILS projects in defence or shipbuilding sectors, with leadership experience and formal PM training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in delivering ILS projects in Defence
• Experience with project management software (P6 or MS Project)
• Experience leading a small team incl. subcontractors
• Knowledge of Defence Procurement Guidelines and contracting; AUSDEFCON desirable
• Experience in shipbuilding or automotive ILS projects
• Formal training in leadership or people management
• Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical or maritime engineering

Responsibilities

• Oversee ILS scope across Defence contracts and establish ILS function
• Manage ILS subcontractors scope and quality
• Review and identify development opportunities for Birdon ILS capabilities
• Scope ILS activities and obtain RFQs from approved subcontractors
• Lead technical interface with ILS subcontractors and the engineering design team
• Ensure ILS deliverables meet contract requirements and AIC commitments
• Engage with design teams to integrate ILS data products from design to service
• Analyze Birdon assets and supply support to improve ILS data products
• Manage ILS project schedule, cost and quality including budget
• Ensure delivery through strong stakeholder management
