Job summary

Birdon is seeking an ILS Lead to oversee Integrated Logistics Support across Defence contracts, with flexibility to base in Port Macquarie, Sydney or Perth. You will manage ILS scope, lead a small team and coordinate with design and subcontractors to deliver data products and artefacts.

The role emphasizes adherence to Defence guidelines and successful delivery of contract commitments, with opportunities to contribute across the full lifecycle from design to service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years delivering ILS projects in Defence.
• Formal training with project management software such as P6 or MS Project.
• Experience leading a small team including subcontractors.
• Familiarity with Defence Procurement Guidelines and AUSDEFCON.
• 5+ years ILS experience in shipbuilding or automotive industries.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ILS scope across Defence contracts and manage related artefacts.
• Review and develop Birdon ILS capabilities and opportunities.
• Scope ILS activities, issue RFQs to approved subcontractors.
• Lead technical interface with subcontractors and the engineering team.
• Ensure ILS deliverables meet contract requirements and AIC commitments.
• Collaborate with design teams to integrate ILS data products from design to service.
• Analyze assets and supply support to improve ILS data products.
• Own ILS project schedule, cost and quality, monitor budget.
• Deliver on commercial and contractual commitments through stakeholder management.
