Job summary

Colin Biggers & Paisley is seeking an Insurance Solicitor/Associate in Brisbane to join a growing Insurance Group. The role offers a permanent, full-time position with responsibilities spanning indemnity, liability, quantum and third-party contributions, as well as client relationship management and ongoing professional development.

The successful candidate will have 1+ years PQE, strong drafting, research and communication skills, and a collaborative mindset in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years' PQE in insurance, indemnity or liability matters.
• Strong client-facing skills and ability to manage expectations.
• Excellent research, drafting and advocacy abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide clients with legal advice on indemnity, liability, quantum and third‑party contribution.
• Review case law and legislation regularly.
• Conduct thorough research and deliver timely, commercial advice.
• Attend settlement conferences and mediations.
• Instruct counsel at court applications and trials.

About the role:

• Providing clients with legal advice on indemnity, liability, quantum and third-party contribution
• Regularly reviewing applicable case law and legislative changes
• Conducting effective legal research and analysis to produce timely, commercial and legally accurate advice
• Attending settlement conferences and mediations
• Instructing counsel at court applications and trials
• Managing a robust workload, including prioritising work and delivering services effectively
• Effective communication with stakeholders to achieve valued customer experience outcomes
• Developing an understanding of client operations and strategy
• Managing prospective client relationships
• Continual professional development and managing MCLE requirements

About you:

• 1+ years' PQE
• A desire to be an integral member of a strong, cohesive and down-to-earth team
• Excellent work ethic and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail, time management and organisational skills
• A genuine commitment to customer experience
• A natural ability to build strong client relationships
• Emerging ability to manage client expectations and run matters autonomously
