Job summary

Preston High School is seeking an Education and Training professional to support instrumental learning for students in Melbourne's northern suburbs. The role involves providing individual and small group tuition, coaching ensembles, and participating in concerts and school performances.

The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to engage students, communicate with parents and staff, and maintain clear records.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to instruct and support instrumental students to maximise growth and confidence.
• Strong oral and written communication skills when in contact with students, parents and staff.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge and expertise relevant to instructing in the target instrument(s).

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small group tuition in target instrument/s.
• Promote an environment of dynamic, active and performance based instrumental learning.
• Support students to grow in their learning and confidence.
• Direct and instruct groups/ensembles in rehearsals and performances.
• Attend and assist with concerts and other scheduled performances.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and other staff.
• Keep accurate records of student attendance and progress.
• Other duties as directed by the principal when required.
