Job summary

Western Health is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician for the Central Sterilisation and Supply Department at Sunshine. This part‑time fixed term role is a parental leave replacement commencing December 2026 for 12 months and involves rotating rosters across CSSD and other WH campuses.

You will clean, disinfect, and sterilize reusable devices, applying national standards and hospital policies while navigating the Scancare tracking system.

Qualifications

• Hold Certificate 3 or 4 in Sterilization and a minimum of 2 years full time CSSD experience.
• Be available to work a rotating roster, Monday to Friday.
• Be a positive team worker, who is flexible, has good organisation and time management skills.
• Have good computer skills to be able to effectively navigate the tracking system.
• Enjoy learning and contributing to the team.
• Be able to take direction from senior staff.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing of reusable medical devices in accordance with national standards and hospital policies.
• Understand and apply the principles of sterilization, disinfection and tracking in the CSSD environment.

About the role:

The Western Health Central Sterilisation and Supply Departments (CSSD) at Sunshine/JKWC has a temporary position available for a suitably experienced Instrument Technician.

This is a part-time parental leave vacancy which is available on a fixed term basis, commencing December 2026 for 12 months.

The CSSD strives to support and provide a high standard of sterilisation services to the Operating Suite, Birthing, out patients and wards . The successful candidate will be required to a work a rotating roster and be prepared to work in CSSD on the other WH campuses.
