Job summary

Austin Health's Surgery Centre in Melbourne seeks an Instrument Technician to join the operating theatre team. You will maintain sterile instrumentation, ensure availability of required items, and uphold sterility and quality standards in line with AS5369.

Successful candidates will have strong communication, energy, and a drive to develop skills, with the ability to work well in a team or autonomously to support patient care and efficient theatre operations.

The Surgery Centre includes eight operating theatres, a 12-bay Recovery unit, an overnight ward and a Satellite unit.

About the role

The Surgery Centre instrument technician works as part of the operating theatre team by maintaining the high standard of care for all patients, ensuring all required items are available when needed and that processing, quality and sterility are assured and to uphold the Standards of the department by complying with AS5369.

About you

You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
