Job summary

Paxus - Technology + Digital Talent is seeking a Learning Designer for a 6 to 12 month contract based in Perth. Part-time options available. You will blend UX, modern learning design and visual content creation to deliver engaging digital learning experiences for adult professionals.

Responsibilities include building in Canvas, applying adult learning principles and producing practical visual assets while ensuring accessibility and clear guidance across learning journeys.

Qualifications

• Experience designing learning experiences for adults.
• Experience creating digital learning content within an LMS (preferably Canvas).
• Familiarity with contemporary learning design and accessibility considerations.

Responsibilities

• Apply UX and learner experience principles to create intuitive digital learning experiences.
• Design learning sequences, activities and assessments from scoped requirements and SME content.
• Build and refine learning materials in Canvas, including pages, modules, navigation and resources.
• Apply contemporary learning design and pedagogical approaches, including adult learning and inclusive design.
• Use AI-enabled tools to support ideation, content transformation and production.
• Create visual assets such as diagrams, infographics and templates for learners.
• Test learning products from a learner perspective and fix navigation or accessibility issues.

Learning Designer:

• Initial 6 to 12 months contract
• Based in Perth
• Part time options available

As a Digital Learning Product Designer, you will combine learner experience (UX) design, contemporary learning design, digital content development and visual design to create engaging learning experiences for adult and professional learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply UX and learner experience principles to create intuitive, accessible and visually clear digital learning experiences.
• Design learning sequences, activities, assessments, learner guidance and supporting resources from scoped requirements and subject matter expert content.
• Build and refine learning materials directly in Canvas, including pages, modules, navigation, assessment settings, release conditions, links and downloadable resources.
• Apply contemporary learning design and pedagogical approaches, including adult learning, authentic assessment, applied learning and inclusive design.
• Use AI-enabled tools responsibly to support ideation, content transformation, prototyping, editing, quality checking and digital production.
• Create practical visual assets such as diagrams, icons, infographics, banners, templates, visual explainers and learner support resources.
• Test learning products from a learner perspective, identifying issues with navigation, accessibility, instructions, assessment settings, links and overall flow.

What you’ll bring

• Practical experience developing or configuring learning content within an LMS, preferably Canvas.
• Experience creating digital and visual assets using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent platforms.
