Job summary

Department of Education WA in Kambalda West is seeking a Program Coordinator – Secondary Instructional Coach to lead instructional improvement and curriculum delivery in a dynamic, inclusive learning community.

You will collaborate with the Principal and admin team to promote academic success, support staff, and engage families and the wider community to achieve shared goals. The role involves data-informed planning and ongoing professional growth within a 12-month term with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Program Coordinator role supports school plan through participative decision-making.
• Leads capacity building to strengthen curriculum delivery.
• Uses data analysis to inform teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Coaching: Building teacher capability through coaching, observation, modelling, feedback and collaborative planning to improve teaching practice.
• Curriculum and Pedagogy: Strengthening curriculum planning, assessment and evidence-based teaching, with a focus on literacy, numeracy and continuity of learning.
• Data-Informed Improvement: Supporting staff to analyse student achievement, attendance and engagement data to identify priorities, guide practice and measure impact.
• Academic Support and Intervention: Coordinate early identification, targeted intervention and adjustments to improve student learning and progress.
• Student Engagement and Inclusion: Build staff capacity to create engaging, inclusive and culturally responsive learning environments that promote belonging and achievement.
• Professional Growth and Partnerships: Mentoring and develop teachers and emerging leaders, while collaborating with families and the Kambalda community to support student learning, wellbeing and future pathways.
• Undertake a teaching role: modelling exemplary classroom practice and maintaining a strong connection with classroom teaching and student learning.
