You're a science teacher at heart with real classroom credibility, and you get as much from helping another teacher improve as you do from a great lesson of your own. You like being out in schools, you're comfortable in front of a principal, and you don't wait to be asked.
You've most likely taught secondary science; you may have been a Head of Science, an instructional coach or a learning specialist. If you've taught with Stile, even better.
Here are a few qualities we think will help you shine in this role (but you don't need all of them to apply):
This is a full‑time role based in any major capital city. If you're not in Melbourne you'll work from home. You’ll regularly travel to schools across your state, so expect to be on the road often.
Stile is run by the people who started the company. We're here to build something real and enduring. A company that in years to come we look back on and are proud of what we achieved, and how we achieved it.
The Instructional Coach works with implementing and platinum schools in one Australian state to help them adopt Stile as their core science curriculum. Sitting within the Commercial team and reporting to the Head of Customer Success, the role leads school implementation, runs regular data‑informed Practice and Impact reviews with school leaders, delivers tailored professional learning and in‑classroom lesson modelling, and builds the relationships with Heads of Science and school leadership that make renewal the natural outcome. Success is measured by school retention, licence utilisation and improved teaching practice rather than activity, and as practice improves, by schools extending their use of Stile through professional learning and new products. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
1. Lead the implementation of Stile in new and platinum schools across the assigned state through Stile’s implementation journey, including implementation meetings and annual plans with an agreed Science Teaching Excellence Framework pillar, so that schools embed Stile as their core curriculum and are retained into their second year.
2. Build and maintain relationships with Heads of Science and school leadership at implementing and platinum schools, so that Stile is aligned to each school’s strategic priorities and renewal becomes the natural outcome.
3. Conduct three Practice and Impact reviews a year with each implementing and platinum school, using platform usage and licence utilisation data to agree actions that improve teaching practice and student outcomes.
4. Monitor renewal risk and licence utilisation across the state’s implementing and platinum schools, and take proactive action with schools whose usage is low or declining, to protect retention and revenue.
5. Plan and deliver tailored professional learning sessions and Stilist in Schools days, including modelling lessons in real classrooms, so that teachers build confidence and capability in teaching with Stile.
6. Identify and promote opportunities for schools to extend their use of Stile, including Professional Learning and Stile X, in collaboration with the Commercial team, to support school outcomes and revenue growth.
7. Provide personal, timely feedback to teachers completing Stile Academy, and termly progress updates to school leaders, to sustain engagement and demonstrate impact.
8. Coordinate the end‑to‑end professional learning experience for schools in the state, including bookings, pre‑reads, logistics and follow‑up, so that schools find working with Stile easy and well organised.
9. Maintain a current view of school strategic priorities and trends in Australian science education, and develop key messages showing how Stile supports them, to inform conversations with school leaders.
10. Capture and report school feedback to the Product team, so that school needs inform Stile’s products and services.
1. Facilitate engaging professional learning for teachers and school leaders, and model effective science lessons in unfamiliar classrooms.
2. Apply in‑depth knowledge of science pedagogy, the Australian Curriculum and relevant state curricula, and school improvement processes.
3. Build credible, trusted relationships with Heads of Science, principals and school leaders, and lead strategic conversations about curriculum and teaching practice.
4. Interpret platform usage and licence utilisation data to identify risks and opportunities, and agree practical actions with schools.
5. Provide specific, practical written and verbal feedback on teachers’ work and practice.
6. Plan and manage a portfolio of schools, visits and events concurrently, with reliable follow‑through on logistics and commitments.
7. Use standard productivity tools (e.g. Google Workspace) and CRM platforms such as Salesforce to record school interactions and plan activity.
8. Hold a current Australian driver’s licence to travel to schools.
9. Must maintain a working with children’s check to comply with relevant student protection requirements.
10. Must submit to a background check on an annual basis to comply with relevant student protection requirements.
1. Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. Bachelor or Master of Teaching or Education, or a science degree with a graduate teaching qualification).
2. Minimum five years of classroom teaching experience, ideally in secondary science.
3. Demonstrated experience delivering professional learning to teachers or coaching colleagues, for example as an instructional coach, head of science or curriculum leader.
4. Preference will be given to candidates with school leadership experience, or experience in customer success, account management or education consultancy.
Frequent local car travel to schools across the assigned state, with occasional interstate plane travel and overnight stays for team events, conferences and Stile / CA offices.
Frequent travel to schools, Stile / CA offices, conferences, and events as necessary. Based in the assigned state, working from home or a Stile office when not in schools. Includes classroom environments when modelling lessons. May require occasional lifting of equipment (e.g. science kits) weighing up to 10kg, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Stile is an equal‑opportunity employer. If you are excited about this role and aren't sure if you meet all of the requirements, please apply and explain why you think you'd thrive at Stile.
