Job summary

Southern Hills Christian College in Bedfordale, WA, seeks a part-time Music Teacher (0.6FTE) for a permanent role commencing 1 January 2027. The successful candidate will deliver Years 7–12 Music, inspire creativity, and support instrumental and ensemble programs within a faith-aligned school community.

Applicants should hold secondary teaching qualifications, TRBWA registration, WWCC, and a commitment to the school's Christian objectives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates personal commitment to the Christian faith and active church membership.
• Secondary teaching qualifications and a sound understanding of assessment and effective teaching practice.
• Evidence of subject competence through folios, workbooks or teaching notes.
• Ability to apply diverse teaching, learning and evaluation strategies to support student learning.
• Strong communication, teamwork and digital skills with positive relationships in the College.
• Current TRBWA registration and WWCC or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Music education for Years 7–12 and develop students’ musical knowledge and performance skills.
• Inspire students to grow their God-given gifts while fostering creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
• Support instrumental, ensemble, and performance opportunities across the College community.
• Promote and strengthen Music across the College, supporting senior study pathways and maintaining program resources.
• Lead and support ensembles, bands, choirs and worship teams while fostering a thriving Music culture.
• Model music as a means of worship, service, and creative expression within the life of the College.
