Job summary

Seymour College in Melbourne is seeking a Classroom Teacher for Secondary Years 7–12 ART/TEXTILES. The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging programs, assess student progress and contribute to a supportive learning environment for diverse learners.

The role supports a full VCE program, with emphasis on literacy, numeracy and student growth. Collaboration with families and the wider community is encouraged, and professional learning opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy.
• SC2: Experience in planning/high-impact teaching strategies, evaluating impact.
• SC3: Monitoring/assessing student learning with data-informed feedback.
• SC4: Interpersonal and communication skills; collaborate with students, parents and staff.
• SC5: Reflective practice and engagement in professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contributing to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertaking other classroom teaching related duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
