Job summary

Ipswich Girls' Grammar School (including Ipswich Junior Grammar School) is seeking a Chinese Language Teacher for a fixed-term role commencing in Term 1, 2027. The successful applicant will deliver an engaging Chinese language program to junior school students, aiming to inspire curiosity about language and culture.

You will report to the Deputy Head of Junior School and collaborate with colleagues and families to support student learning and engagement.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications to teach Chinese language in a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and ability to create engaging, differentiated language learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver purposeful, engaging and differentiated Chinese language learning aligned with the Australian Curriculum and School frameworks.
• Develop students’ communication skills and deepen their understanding of Chinese language and culture.
• Use assessment and feedback to monitor progress and support each learner’s growth.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment where students feel safe and inspired to participate.
• Build trusted partnerships with students, families and colleagues and contribute to the wider life of the School.
