Universal Store is seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Security Platforms Manager to lead the design, security and operation of our national retail infrastructure. Based in Brisbane at our Support Office in Eagle Farm, you will drive roadmaps, champion automation and infrastructure-as-code, and oversee cloud and on‑premises platforms across AWS, Azure and VMware.

You'll lead a cross‑functional team, shape cybersecurity maturity across the business and partner with vendors to deliver

Qualifications

• Extensive experience across infrastructure, networking, cloud and cybersecurity.
• Experience leading technical teams.
• Strong AWS, Azure, VMware and hybrid infrastructure knowledge.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft technologies including 365, Entra ID, AD and Intune.
• Experience designing infrastructure-as-code and automation solutions.
• Exposure to architecture governance and change management processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Infrastructure & Security Platforms team with excellence and accountability.
• Own the infrastructure and cybersecurity roadmap across cloud, network, identity and security platforms.
• Act as the organisation's design authority for infrastructure, authoring architecture and solution design docs.
• Drive infrastructure modernisation, standardisation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives across AWS, Azure, VMware and on-premises.
• Lead the Cybersecurity Maturity Programme and strengthen security controls.
• Manage identity and access platforms including Entra ID, AD, Intune and Microsoft 365 services.
• Oversee network design and resilience across stores, Support Office and DC environments.
• Drive disaster recovery, business continuity and resilience testing.
• Manage strategic technology vendors and partners across infrastructure, cloud, telecommunications and cybersecurity services.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, automation opportunities and AI-driven operations.
• Support major initiatives including new store openings, relocations and enterprise technology projects.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a driven Infrastructure & Security Platforms Manager to join our Technology team at our Support Office in Eagle Farm. Reporting to the General Manager - Technology, you'll lead the design, security and operation of the infrastructure platforms that underpin UNI Group's national retail network, Support Office and Distribution Centre environments.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a hands‑on leadership role where you'll combine technical expertise with strategic influence. You'll drive technology roadmaps, lead our Cybersecurity Maturity Programme, oversee critical cloud and infrastructure platforms across AWS, Azure and VMware, and shape the future of our technology ecosystem through standardisation, automation and infrastructure‑as‑code.

You'll have the opportunity to modernise our infrastructure estate, champion cybersecurity initiatives and help deliver our vision of creating a highly automated, scalable and AI-enabled technology environment

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the Infrastructure & Security Platforms team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability and continuous improvement
• Owning the infrastructure and cybersecurity roadmap across cloud, network, identity, end-user computing and security platforms
• Acting as the organisation's design authority for infrastructure and security, authoring architecture and solution design documentation and guiding technology decisions through
• governance forums
• Driving infrastructure modernisation, standardisation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives across AWS, Azure, VMware and on-premises environments
• Leading the Cybersecurity Maturity Programme and strengthening security controls aligned with industry best practice frameworks
• Managing identity and access platforms including Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune and Microsoft 365 services
• Overseeing the design and resilience of network infrastructure across our retail stores, Support Office and Distribution Centre environments
• Driving disaster recovery, business continuity and resilience testing programs to ensure platform readiness and recovery capability
• Managing strategic technology vendors and partners across infrastructure, cloud, telecommunications and cybersecurity services
• Evaluating emerging technologies, automation opportunities and AI-assisted operational capabilities to support the future growth of the business
• Supporting major business initiatives including new store openings, relocations and enterprise technology projects

About You

This is an opportunity for an experienced infrastructure, cloud or cybersecurity professional who wants to move beyond maintaining environments and into shaping them!

You’ll bring:

• Extensive experience across infrastructure, networking, cloud and cybersecurity environments
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or developing technical teams
• Strong expertise across AWS, Azure, VMware and hybrid infrastructure environments
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory and Intune
• Experience managing enterprise networking technologies and multi-site environments
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, security operations and managed security services
• Experience designing and implementing infrastructure-as-code and automation solutions
• Exposure to architecture governance, solution design documentation and change management processes
• Strong vendor management and stakeholder engagement skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and business audiences
• A continuous improvement mindset and genuine passion for emerging technologies, automation and AI-driven operations
