Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking an Infrastructure Project Planner (Planning & Design) to lead planning and design across parks, public spaces, buildings, transport facilities and marine assets within the Shire.

You will develop masterplans, feasibility studies and business cases, partnering with stakeholders and consultants to deliver innovative and sustainable outcomes for a growing community.

Qualifications

• Background in urban planning, landscape architecture, or related field.
• Experience delivering planning or design phases of infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of planning and approval processes.
• Experience preparing masterplans, feasibility studies and business cases.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Great communication and solution-focused mindset.

The Opportunity:

As ourProject Manager - Infrastructure Planning & Design, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of the Shire. Working across a diverse portfolio, you'll lead projects through planning, design and approvals, helping turn concepts into well-defined, deliverable outcomes. From strategic planning to business cases and masterplans, you'll help deliver infrastructure that supports our growing community.

About You:

We're looking for aresult-driven professionalwith a strong background in urban planning, landscape architecture, or a related field. You're a confident leader, a strategic thinker, and a skilled communicator who thrives in dynamic environments.

You’ll bring:

• Qualifications in Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering planning and/or design phases of infrastructure or community projects.
• Knowledge of planning and approval processes.
• Experience preparing masterplans, feasibility studies and business cases.
• Strong project management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• A solutions-focused approach and a passion for great community outcomes.

• Interview date:Interviews will be facilitated week starting 2nd November.
• Package:$111,776 to $124,574 p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
• Hours of work:Temporary Full-Time Working 35 hours per week. You will have the option of a 19-day month with Council's ADO system (Accrued Day Off).Position is expected to be available up to 24 months.
