Job summary

ARTC is seeking a Safety-focused Infrastructure Maintainer to join the Operations team. You will perform hands-on maintenance and upkeep of ARTC’s rail network, including preventative and reactive maintenance and support for capital upgrades.

Key duties include general labouring, track maintenance, safety duties, inspections, operating heavy machinery and welding, with a 9 days on, 5 days off roster from 7am to 4pm. Flexibility and a Category 1 Rail Medical are required.

Qualifications

• White Card required for construction work.
• Current driver’s licence is required.
• Rail Industry Worker (RIW) competencies desirable.
• HR Licence desirable.
• Flexibility to work hours and travel as required.
• Must be able to pass a Category 1 Rail Medical.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance and upkeep of ARTC’s rail network.
• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
• Support minor construction works associated with planned capital upgrades.
• Perform general labouring, track maintenance, safety protection duties, inspections, and operate heavy machinery.
• Include welding and other specialised maintenance activities.

About the Team

When you join our Operations team, you’ll join the team who help keep trains moving safely and reliably across our 9,600km of track. Working across our East-West and North South corridors, the team is key to ensuring our rail network connects people and products with cities, ports and global markets.

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking safety-focused, hardworking andmotivated individual to join our team as Infrastructure Maintainer. Thisis your opportunity to build a long-term career in the rail industry.

In frastructure Maintainers are responsible for the hands-on maintenance and upkeep of ARTC’s rail network. This includes carrying out both preventative and reactive ma intenance activities, as well as supporting minor construction works associated with planned capital upgrades.

In this role, you will perform a range of tasks including general labouring, track maintenance, safety protection duties, detailed and general inspections of rail infrastructure, operating heavy machinery, welding, and other specialised maintenance activities — all while adhering to ARTC’s strict safety and quality standards.

The Roster is 9 days on, 5 days off with 7am – 4pm hours. This role requires flexibility, including overtime
