Job summary

SKG Services in Sydney seeks an IT & Security Operations Manager to lead day-to-day IT operations, strengthen infrastructure and drive security governance. Qualifications

• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure and operations.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, risk management and security best practices.
• Experience with IT procurement, asset lifecycle management.
• Experience on user access, onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Understanding IT security standards and governance frameworks.
• Ability to analyse system performance and security events.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing day-to-day IT operations, infrastructure stability, system performance and uptime.
• Managing network security, cybersecurity and IT risk initiatives to protect systems and data.
• Overseeing IT hardware and software procurement, asset management and lifecycle processes.
• Managing employee IT onboarding and offboarding, including system access, hardware and software allocation.
• Ensuring IT security controls and processes align with regulatory and industry requirements.
• Monitoring security risks, vulnerabilities and incidents with mitigations.
• Producing reports on system performance, security incidents and IT risk.
• Reporting IT and security metrics to senior management and advising on improvements.
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives across IT and security operations.

Job description

SKG Group is seeking an experienced IT & Security Operations Manager to join our Technology & Information team in Sydney. This is a hands-on operational leadership role suited to someone who can manage IT infrastructure and security while also driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and technology operations. This role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day IT operations while strengthening the organisation’s infrastructure, cybersecurity, risk management and technology governance.

Key Responsibilities, but not limited to-

• Overseeing day-to-day IT operations, infrastructure stability, system performance and uptime.
• Managing network security, cybersecurity and IT risk initiatives to protect systems and organisational data.
• Overseeing IT hardware and software procurement, asset management and lifecycle processes.
• Managing employee IT onboarding and offboarding, including system access, hardware and software allocation.
• Ensuring IT security controls and processes align with organisational, regulatory and industry requirements.
• Monitoring security risks, vulnerabilities, incidents and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Producing and analysing reports covering system performance, security incidents, compliance and IT risk.
• Reporting key IT and security metrics to senior management and providing recommendations for improvement.
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives across IT and security operations.
• Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and the broader Technology & Information team.

About You

• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, IT operations and network security.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, risk management and security best practices.
• Experience with IT procurement, hardware/software management and asset lifecycle management.
• Experience managing user access, IT onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Strong understanding of IT security standards, compliance and risk frameworks.
• Experience analysing system performance, security incidents and operational data.
• A track record of identifying risks and implementing practical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and incident management skills.
• Experience driving continuous improvement across IT environments.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence reporting to senior stakeholders.
