Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic and forward-thinking Information Management leader to join our Enterprise Solutions and Technology business area.

As the ATO’s Information Management Director, you will provide enterprise leadership to shape how information is governed, managed and used across the ATO. Effective information and records management is critical to delivering the ATO Strategy. You’ll lead the organisational, cultural and operational change required to embed strong information management practices into everyday business activities, ensuring information is trusted, accessible and managed appropriately throughout its lifecycle.

You will strengthen business ownership and accountability for information management across the organisation. You’ll build organisational understanding and capability and drive sustained changes in behaviours and ways of working. Providing leadership on information risk, you’ll strengthen how risks are identified, assessed and managed effectively, and establish robust governance, controls and assurance processes.

Working across the ATO, you will partner with major programs and enterprise initiatives to embed information management into new business processes, ways of working and technology solutions. You’ll identify opportunities for innovation while ensuring that information requirements, lifecycle controls and accountabilities are considered from the outset.

You will lead and transform the Information and Records Management Team, providing strategic direction, expert advice and assurance services to support organisational outcomes. You’ll set clear priorities, make effective use of resources and foster an inclusive, accountable and future-focused team that is equipped to meet the ATO’s evolving information management needs.

This role may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Adelaide, Brisbane CBD, Canberra, Melbourne CBD or Sydney CBD.
