Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in Gippsland seeks an Infectious Diseases Advanced Trainee to join our Medical Services team on a full-time fixed-term basis until 06 February 2028. The role provides specialist consultative services to inpatients, supports ambulatory care, Hospital in the Home, outpatient clinics and clinical research.

Under supervision of experienced Infectious Diseases physicians, you will contribute to education, governance and quality improvement while progressing RACP training.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent and current general registration with AHPRA.
• Registration with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) as an Advanced Trainee, having completed the required examinations.
• Clinical competence appropriate to your level of postgraduate training with sound diagnostic and patient management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist infectious diseases consultation for inpatients with multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in outpatient clinics, ambulatory care, and Hospital in the Home programs.
• Contribute to infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship and public health activities.
• Assist with education and supervision of junior medical staff and students.
• Engage in research, clinical trials and quality improvement initiatives.
• Escalate complex issues and contribute to clinical governance and patient safety.
