Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in Gippsland is seeking a General Medicine Registrar to join the Medical Services team on a full-time fixed-term basis. You will provide high-quality inpatient medical care, work with consultants, junior medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

The role offers opportunities to develop clinical expertise, contribute to teaching, supervision and broad exposure to diverse medical presentations within a regional referral hospital.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent with General Registration in Australia.
• Registration with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
• Postgraduate clinical experience in general medicine is expected.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive medical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of General Medicine inpatients.
• Coordinate patient care and participate in discharge planning with a multidisciplinary team.
• Conduct daily patient reviews and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Escalate concerns and work with consultants to ensure safe, evidence-based care.
• Provide supervision and teaching to Interns, HMOs and medical students.
• Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety and governance initiatives.
