Job summary

Healthscope is seeking an Infection Prevention & Control Coordinator or Registered Nurse to lead our infection prevention program across a hospital setting. This part-time role (3 days/week) focuses on patient safety, quality improvement and accreditation readiness.

The ideal candidate will drive IPC initiatives, mentor staff, and collaborate with clinical leaders to ensure NSQHS/ACHS compliance and high-quality care. Join a network-wide safety culture and support across Melbourne facilities.

Qualifications

• Australian work rights
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
• Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control principles, standards and guidelines
• Experience collecting, analysing and interpreting clinical data
• Policy development and quality improvement experience
• Experience facilitating education and supporting staff development
• Strong auditing, investigation and reporting skills
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication capabilities

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the hospital-wide Infection Prevention and Control Program.
• Monitor, analyse and report infection prevention data, clinical indicators and KPI performance.
• Develop, review and implement infection prevention policies, procedures and best practice guidelines.
• Coordinate outbreak prevention, preparedness and response activities.
• Chair and support Infection Prevention and Control Committee meetings.
• Provide expert advice, education and coaching to staff.
• Support accreditation activities and ongoing NSQHS/ACHS compliance.
• Conduct audits, investigations and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, allied health and operational leaders.
• Promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement.
