It reports to the Clinical Nurse Consultant IPC and supports maintenance of the IPC program. The CNS2-IPC role emphasizes maximizing operational IPC effectiveness, ensuring legislative compliance, and contributing to best practice through policy development, audits, and education for staff,

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Postgraduate clinical qualifications and at least 3 years' recent experience in an acute clinical environment.
• Ability to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention and control across St George Hospital.
• Develop and implement IPC policies, procedures and outbreak plans.
• Participate in compliance audits and reporting.
• Contribute to IPC education programs and professional development.
• Manage infection-related matters and liaise with stakeholders.
• Assist immunisation and surveillance aligned with skill level.
