Job summary

Carinity is seeking an enthusiastic Clinical Nurse – Infection Control in Bundaberg to provide clinical leadership within our Residential Aged Care team and lead infection prevention initiatives.

In an expanded RN capacity you will mentor staff, monitor infection risks, develop and review IPC policies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance resident safety. The role offers 71.75 hours per fortnight and requires active AHPRA registration and readiness to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Postgraduate qualifications in infection control or willingness to obtain.
• Strong clinical background including Aged Care experience.
• Demonstrated mentoring skills with the ability to guide a care team in clinical best practice.
• Knowledge of Aged Care documentation requirements and ACFI assessments.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
• Flexibility to work morning, afternoon, and night shifts during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Providing clinical leadership, advice, and guidance on infection prevention and control practices
• Leading infection prevention and control initiatives to support the safety of residents, staff, and visitors
• Monitoring, investigating, and responding to infection risks, incidents, and outbreaks
• Supporting the development, implementation and review of infection prevention and control policies and procedures
• Educating, mentoring, and supporting staff to promote best practice in infection prevention and control
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to identify and minimise infection risks and enhance resident care and safety
• Promoting compliance with infection prevention and control standards, guidelines and organisational requirements
