Job summary

Carinity in Highfields, Queensland is seeking an enthusiastic Clinical Nurse – Infection Control to join our Residential Aged Care team. In this expanded RN role you will lead infection prevention initiatives, serve as IPC Lead, and mentor staff to deliver high‑quality care.

The position offers 76 hours per fortnight with Monday–Friday hours and some weekend/on‑call coverage. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to reduce infection risks, develop policies, and promote best practice.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Post graduate qualifications in infection control or willingness to obtain.
• Strong clinical background including demonstrated experience in Aged Care.
• Demonstrated mentoring skills with the ability to guide a care team in clinical best practice.

About the opportunity: We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Clinical Nurse – Infection Control to become part of our dedicated team.

The Clinical Nurse – Infection Control plays an important leadership role within our Residential Aged Care team. Working in an expanded Registered Nurse capacity, you will take on responsibilities including Infection Prevention Control Lead (IPC Lead) and Nurse Preceptor, while supporting the delivery of high-quality clinical care in line with Carinity policies and procedures.

You will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and experience by mentoring and supporting staff, helping them feel confident and empowered to provide the best possible Residential Focused Care. You will also champion infection prevention and control initiatives, helping to create a safe, welcoming environment for our residents, staff and visitors.

Based in Highfields, this role offers 76 hours per fortnight and is a great opportunity to make a meaningful contribution within a supportive aged care team. Availability is required Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM with flexibility to work weekends and be on-call at times.

About you:

• Knowledge of Aged Care documentation requirements and ACFI assessments
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
• Demonstrate flexibility to work morning, afternoon, and night shifts
