Job summary

GPS Electrical Services in Banksmeadow, Sydney, is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Electrician for a stable, long-term embedded role in a highly automated FMCG manufacturing environment. The role combines planned maintenance with breakdown support on PLC/SCADA/HMI-controlled equipment, working with a site-team on a 12-hour shift pattern and ample overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' industrial electrical maintenance experience
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or food processing
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience with automated production and packaging equipment
• Knowledge of motors, sensors, control systems and industrial electrical equipment
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Exposure to PLC, SCADA and HMI systems

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support
• Work on electrical systems across production equipment and plant facilities
• Fault-find and diagnose across automated production lines
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to minimise downtime
• Read electrical schematics and operate SCADA/HMI interfaces
• Ensure safety and isolation procedures are followed
• Provide hands-on, long-term contribution to the site team

We are currently looking for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join our team in a full-time embedded position based in Banksmeadow, Sydney.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced industrial electrician looking for a stable, long-term role within a highly automated food manufacturing environment, working alongside an established site maintenance and operations team.

About the Opportunity:

Working within a large-scale, continuously operating manufacturing facility, you'll play an important role in keeping the plant running safely and reliably.

The role is a mix of planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support, giving you plenty of hands‑on work across production equipment and electrical systems.

You can expect:

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for a reliable, engaged and dependable Industrial Electrician who enjoys hands‑on maintenance and is confident working independently in a busy manufacturing environment.

You will ideally have:

Current NSW Electrical Licence and Electrical Trade Qualification / Certificate III

5+ years' industrial electrical maintenance experience

Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or food processing

Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills

Experience with automated production and packaging equipment

Knowledge of motors, sensors, control systems and industrial electrical equipment

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics

Exposure to PLC, SCADA and HMI systems

Ability to use SCADA screens to assist with locating and diagnosing breakdowns

Strong planned and preventative maintenance experience

Solid understanding of safety and isolation procedures

Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
