Job summary

Stacked Farm Pty is seeking a Maintenance Automation Engineer to advance our industrial automation systems across large-scale operations. You will design, test, and refine PLC/SCADA solutions, focusing on reliability, safety, and performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in automation, electrical, mechatronics or related field.
3+ years in industrial automation, PLC programming or control systems.
Experience with Ignition SCADA or similar HMI/SCADA.
Proficient in structured programming and version control tools like Git.
Exposure to IIoT concepts and agile engineering environment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain PLC-based automation code using Structured Text.
Develop and implement robust control strategies for process automation using SCADA/HMI, especially Ignition.
Test and validate system functionality for performance, stability and safety.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and software engineers for integration.
Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks in real-time.
Maintain documentation for automation architecture, logic flows, code libraries and configurations.
Support version control, testing and CI workflows across all automation codebases.
Proactively monitor systems and deliver enhancements for performance and efficiency.
Stay updated on automation standards and best practices; collaborate with suppliers.
Provide technical insight during project planning and design reviews.
