Job summary

LV Shade and Shutters is seeking a skilled Industrial Sewer/Seamstress to join our Traralgon team on a casual basis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will operate industrial sewing equipment to produce high-quality shade and shutter products that meet exacting standards.

The role requires reading patterns, handling fabrics, and maintaining sewing equipment while collaborating with the production team to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience operating industrial sewing machines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality finished products.
• Ability to read and interpret patterns, technical drawings and work instructions.
• Experience with fabric handling and knowledge of different material types and their properties.
• Excellent hand‑eye coordination and fine motor skills.
• Physical capability to work at a sewing station for extended periods.
• Reliable, punctual and professional work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to construct and assemble custom shade sail products with precision and accuracy.
• Follow patterns and measurements to ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
• Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring all seams are secure and meet company standards before dispatch.
• Prepare materials and components for sewing, including cutting, pinning and positioning fabric and related materials.
• Maintain and service industrial sewing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols within the workshop environment.
• Suggest improvements to production methods.

You will be responsible for operating industrial sewing equipment to produce high-quality custom shade and shutter products that meet our exacting standards. Based in Traralgon VIC, this casual position offers flexibility whilst contributing to the success of our growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Operating industrial sewing machines to construct and assemble custom shade sail products with precision and accuracy
• Following specifications, patterns and measurements to ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements
• Inspecting finished products for defects, ensuring all seams are secure and meet company standards before dispatch
• Preparing materials and components for sewing, including cutting, pinning and positioning fabric and associated materials
• Maintaining and performing routine care on industrial sewing equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Working collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency
• Adhering to health and safety protocols within the workshop environment
• Contributing to process improvements and suggesting enhancements to production methods
