Job summary

Textile Link Pty Ltd, based in Melbourne's south-east, is seeking a Machine Operator / Sewer to join our casual production team manufacturing premium curtains, blinds and tracks. You will measure, cut and sew fabrics, assemble blinds/tracks and prepare finished products for installation.

Ideal candidates are precise, reliable, and able to follow written specs. A background in sewing is helpful but not essential.

Qualifications

• Accurate with measurements and able to follow a written spec.
• Steady hands and patience for precision work.
• Reliable: our install calendar depends on it.
• Happy to be shown a method and stick to it.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 20kg.
• Available consistently during the week, ideally three days together.
• Any sewing background helps — domestic, clothing, upholstery or soft furnishings — but it isn't essential.

Responsibilities

• Measure and cut fabric to spec.
• Learn to operate industrial sewing and overlocking machines.
• Hem, join, weight and finish curtains.
• Assemble roller blinds and tracks.
• Press, fold and pack finished work ready for install.
