The University of Queensland is offering a fixed-term Senior Project Officer role focused on Indigenous-led environmental and cultural research at the Moreton Bay Research Station, Minjerribah. The position supports Quandamooka communities and Elders, coordinating projects while ensuring adherence to cultural protocols and governance.

Qualifications

• Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person is essential
• Experience in environmental, Indigenous-led or country-focused projects
• Ability to work with cultural protocols, governance and community guidance
• Experience coordinating projects and reporting to community partners

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support multiple community-led research projects with planning, scheduling, milestones and reporting
• Engage respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, Elders and community members through meetings, workshops and on-country activities
• Assist data analysis, prepare reports, maps and knowledge products aligned with community needs
• Ensure effective communication and timely return of findings to partners in culturally appropriate formats
