Job summary

CSIRO’s Indigenous Research Governance team seeks an Officer – Indigenous Research Governance to support respectful engagement with Indigenous science activities across the organisation. You will coordinate reporting and records, maintain tools and systems, and provide administrative and logistical support for team activities, forums and events.

The role requires cultural capability grounded in Indigenous knowledge, collaboration with researchers and units, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Cultural capability grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing.
• Demonstrated experience providing accurate, high-quality administrative, secretariat and project support, including maintaining records and contributing to reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully, build productive relationships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander staff and stakeholders.
• Sound judgement and problem-solving skills to interpret policies and resolve routine matters.
• Ability to use and maintain technical tools, platforms and systems for record keeping and reporting.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for reports, presentations and discussions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating monitoring, record keeping and reporting on Indigenous science activity across CSIRO.
• Maintaining digital dashboards, maps, tagging protocols and reporting systems.
• Providing administrative, logistical, travel and financial support for events and activities.
• Supporting internal forums, including Communities of Practice and Indigenous science symposiums.
• Assisting with administration of Indigenous Science funding processes and committee activities.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver CSIRO’s Indigenous Science objectives.
