Job summary

The Kimberley Land Council seeks a Carbon Program Manager to lead Aboriginal-owned carbon projects across the Kimberley. Based in Broome, you will drive delivery that benefits Country, culture and community, while ensuring sound governance and partnerships with Traditional Owners and project partners.

You will oversee compliance, reporting and audits, develop and enhance systems, and work with technical and commercial partners to turn carbon opportunities into lasting regional benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong program or project management experience.
• Understanding of carbon projects, land management, environmental markets or climate-related programs.
• Experience working with Aboriginal organisations, Traditional Owners, PBCs or remote communities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to navigate compliance, reporting and regulated project environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Aboriginal-owned carbon projects across the Kimberley.
• Manage project delivery, planning, timelines, budgets and reporting.
• Support compliance requirements, audits, contracts and carbon project obligations.
• Build strong relationships with Traditional Owners, PBCs, Aboriginal corporations and project partners.
• Identify opportunities to grow Indigenous-led participation in the carbon economy.
• Provide practical advice, systems and resources that strengthen local carbon capability.
• Work with technical specialists, commercial partners and funders to deliver project outcomes.
• Ensure carbon projects deliver benefits for Country, culture, community and regional economic development.
