Job summary

University of New South Wales in Kensington, NSW, seeks an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Employability & External Relations Manager. The role drives external engagement and the Indigenous Future Students Plan, leading three coordinators and integrating with the Nura Gili team.

You will develop programs, manage operations, and align initiatives with strategic objectives while ensuring culturally informed leadership and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with lived experience or equivalent competence.
  • Proven experience contributing to Indigenous programs and improving outcomes.
  • Ability to develop and execute external relations plans for Indigenous student outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in employability related to higher education or equivalent knowledge.
  • Proven project management, planning and evaluation skills; able to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication with attention to detail across stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead a team toward shared vision and positive outcomes.
  • Excellent organisational skills and autonomous, proactive work style.
  • Advanced computer literacy across MS Office and databases.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the Indigenous Future Students Plan and deliverables.
  • Lead the Future Students Coordinators and manage day‑to‑day operations and resources.
  • Set strategic direction for external engagement projects in line with initiatives.
  • Oversee and evaluate external engagement activities and advise on improvements.
  • Collaborate with Nura Gili leadership to align external initiatives with student outcomes.
