Job summary

ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is seeking an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Programs Officer (ASO5) within Offender Reintegration. The role focuses on culturally appropriate support, referrals to programs and services, and effective reintegration for detainees and offenders on community-based orders.

Qualifications

• Identified position restricted to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Requires a minimum of a class C driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally appropriate support and referrals to cultural programs and services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander detainees and offenders on community-based orders.
• Support comprehensive case management and reintegration services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander detainees and offenders on community-based orders, providing culturally appropriate support, referrals and access to programs, services and reintegration supports.
• Develop, implement and facilitate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specific programs, cultural events, referral pathways and special initiatives.
• Strengthen connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community organisations and other stakeholders to support positive rehabilitation and reintegration outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records and manage confidential and sensitive information in accordance with legislative, policy and information management requirements.
