Job summary

Central Queensland Indigenous Development in Maryborough is seeking a Child and Family Support Practitioner to deliver intensive, trauma-informed therapeutic support for children and young people in placement. You will work with the Department to strengthen placement stability and improve outcomes, including assessment, family support and carer capacity building.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in social work or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and kinship systems.
• Experience with kinship care and child protection services.
• Ability to coordinate service delivery and manage competing priorities.
• Knowledge of child protection legislation and privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure culturally safe, family-led, trauma-informed and child-centred practice.
• Allocate and monitor referrals, caseloads and staff responsibilities.
• Oversee kinship carer assessments and related documentation.
• Provide staff supervision, performance support, reflective practice and development.
• Support kinship carers through assessment and approval processes.
• Coordinate referrals and brokerage for supports.
• Maintain compliance with CQID policies and ISO 9001 principles.
• Build collaborative relationships with children, families and community partners.
